About the estate
Middlesex Street Estate in the Portsoken ward of the City of London, comprises of Petticoat Tower, with 88 flats over 23 floors, and Petticoat Square, with 146 properties surrounding the landscaped podium area. The estate was built between 1968 and 1972 and shares its site with Artizan Street Library and Community Centre. The local authority for Middlesex Street Estate is the City of London Corporation.

Parking |
Currently, there is no disabled person's parking bay, but one will be provided as part of the Eastern Base project, due for completion in late 2026. Blue badge holders can park for free for a maximum of four hours on street parking bays. |
| Entrance information |
External paths and road surfaces are smooth tarmac/concrete and easy to navigate. The estate office is on the ground floor of the library and has level access. The main entrance door to the library is automatic (button operated). The door to the estate office room is not automatic. The estate office is clearly signed but does not have braille/tactile lettering. |
| Lifts and stairs |
The estate office is on ground floor, but the upper-level community space has lift access. Stairs/steps in the library do have handrails and treads/risers. |
| Toilets | There are three toilets in the library, including one disabled toilet. |
| Community room | The community space is step-free. There are various seating options and there are toilets accessible. |

The estate office has hearing loops, magnifiers, and colour overlays. |

What is an emergency repair?
An emergency property repair is any fault which threatens harm to persons or property.
To report non-emergency repairs, please email property services.
The community centre is located in Artizan Street Library, please contact the Library's team directly for information on booking spaces and rates.
The Portsoken Community Centre is a short walk away from the estate and is available for residents to hire for parties and events.
Walkabouts and drop-ins are your opportunity to speak to your estate team to ask any questions or offer any suggestions to improve life on your estate. All residents are welcome.
For the walkabouts, residents can join estate staff on a walk around the estate where any areas of concern can be pointed out and discussed. Drop-ins will take place inside the Community Centre and also offer residents a chance to sit down with estate staff.

These will take place in the Artizan Street Library and Community Centre.

The current prices are:
- Single: £30 per night (Maximum 1 person allowed) +£5 per booking if you are bringing your own bed linen
- Double: £40 per night (Maximum 2 people allowed) +£5 per booking if you are bringing your own bed linen
Please note, the maximum stay is 14 days.
