Have your say in the public consultation

The City of London Corporation's project to transform Fleet Street aims to improve the experience of people walking and wheeling in the area. To create a more welcoming and sustainable environment, proposals include wider pavements to provide more space for people walking and wheeling, improvements for people cycling alongside seating and planting to create a high-quality environment.

The project is supported by the Fleet Street Quarter Business Improvement District. The proposals are part of wider plans to transform streets and public spaces in the area, as set out in the Fleet Street Area Healthy Streets Plan.

Design options for the transformation of Fleet Street have been approved by the Streets & Walkways Sub Committee and can be seen in the committee documents from 09 December 2025.

Public Consultation

Early engagement with local stakeholders took place in autumn 2025, and we have taken onboard feedback to inform the proposed designs for Fleet Street.

We are now undertaking a public consultation on the proposals from 27 May - 27 July 2026, and you can view and comment on the proposals on the Transforming Fleet Street Commonplace portal.
