Improving Fleet Street's Courts and Lanes

The City of London Corporation is working with the Fleet Street Quarter Business Improvement District to enhance the Courts and Lanes off Fleet Street, with the aim of improving the experience of people walking and wheeling in the area.

Key changes include public realm enhancements at Johnson’s Court, Gough Square and in the courts and lanes.

Early engagement took place with local stakeholders in autumn 2025 which informed the proposed designs. A public consultation took place on the further developed proposals from 9 March - 20 April and is now closed.

We are now assessing the responses received during the consultation and will take onboard feedback where possible. Once the design is finalised, we aim to start construction in late 2026.
