Corporate volunteering
Corporate volunteering is a powerful way to boost employee engagement and support professional development while making a positive impact in the community. By joining local initiatives, businesses can contribute to social causes, strengthen community ties, and demonstrate corporate responsibility. Employees also gain valuable skills such as leadership, communication, and problem-solving, while fostering teamwork and motivation.
Many City businesses already volunteer through community projects and skills-based mentoring. Whether you’re starting out or expanding your efforts, there are plenty of ways to come together to make a meaningful difference.
Corporate volunteering in our green spaces

The City Corporation overseas over 11,000 acres of green space across London, with the help of numerous local volunteer groups and hundreds of volunteers each year. Volunteers can help maintain gardens, assist with conservation projects, and support outdoor activities.
Parks and gardens are essential to the health and wellbeing of our communities and corporate volunteer teams can contribute significantly to developing and maintaining these green spaces for everyone to enjoy.
Step Up Mentoring Programme

The City of London Corporation, in partnership with OMG Education, has launched the Step Up Mentoring programme to connect care-experienced young Londoners with volunteer mentors from businesses in the Square Mile. The initiative provides a unique opportunity for organisations to make a meaningful impact while supporting talent and skills development. Through one-to-one mentoring, participants build networks, enhance skills, and gain confidence – and mentors develop leadership and coaching experience.
