Skills for a Sustainable Skyline Taskforce

Central London urgently needs a larger skilled workforce to decarbonise its commercial buildings and sustain its world-leading financial and professional services sector.

Since its launch in 2022, the Skills for a Sustainable Skyline Taskforce has been working at pace with over 350 employers, training providers, industry bodies, and government partners to close the green skills gap across Central London’s commercial built environment.

Read our Skyline Skills Recommendations Report 2023, which highlights the critical need for greater access to a skilled, diverse workforce which is trained and qualified to construct, retrofit, and manage the commercial buildings of tomorrow.

In December 2024, the Taskforce launched the Skyline Skills Hub.

The Skyline Skills Hub
The Hub is a free, live online resource showcasing best practice in attracting, training, and retaining skilled workers for sustainable commercial buildings. It highlights opportunities for:

  • Employers can find examples of successful workforce development and retention.
  • Employees and sole traders can discover upskilling and reskilling pathways.
  • New and underrepresented talent can explore routes into green jobs.

The Hub is the go-to place for industry insight, training opportunities, and real-world examples of how organisations are addressing the green skills challenge.

Visit the Skyline Skills Hub to explore its benefits and learn how you can get involved.
