City of London Blue Plaques
Application
Update on the City of London Blue Plaques scheme
The City of London Blue Plaques scheme has been paused while a review was undertaken. The revised proposal has now been approved by the Culture, Heritage and Libraries Committee.
The review has focused on strengthening governance, providing more robust guidance for applicants, and supporting a more inclusive, sustainable and clear approach to commemoration across the Square Mile.
The redesigned scheme will relaunch on 15 September 2026. Full application guidance and timescales will be published as part of the scheme’s relaunch.
