Changes to on-street parking

Date updated: 28/05/2026

The City of London Corporation is reviewing on-street parking rules, officially known as our Controlled Parking Zone (CPZ) and we want to hear from you during our consultation, which runs from 20 May to 1 July 2026.

The CPZ was last reviewed 17 years ago. Since then, the City has grown and how people travel has changed.

To better manage our limited kerbside space, we are considering changes to our CPZ, including:

  • when people can park on single-yellow lines
  • when payment is required for on-street parking and a maximum stay of four hours applies
  • what parking charges apply for on-street parking at different times of the day and week

Disabled parking, loading restrictions and residents' off-street parking would not be affected.

We want to hear from you

To understand how our proposals might affect different people and groups, we are holding a public consultation until midnight (00:00) on Wednesday 1 July.

Information is available online, from the Guildhall and at drop-in sessions.

Take part online through our survey on Commonplace.

Request a paper copy by telephone on 020 7606 3030, or

Take part in-person by attending one of our ten drop-in sessions. Information will be available to view and officers on hand to answer your questions at and on:
