Housing Structure
City Corporation Housing is part of the Department of Community and Children’s Services (DCCS). DCCS is responsible for the provision of accommodation and sporting and leisure opportunities for residents of the City Corporation and those who work in the City or for the City Corporation. DCCS is also responsible for the full range of Social Services functions within the City including the provision of social work, domiciliary support, occupational therapy, residential and day care for City residents and others in need. DCCS oversees the City Corporation’s work as a local education authority. DCCS is managed by the Executive Director of Community and Children’s Services.
As part of DCCS, Housing is managed by the Director of Housing, who reports to the Executive Director of Community and Children’s Services. Housing is organised by the Services we provide, with Heads of Service reporting to the Director of Housing. A brief description each Service area is described below.

The Repairs and Maintenance team is responsible for reactive repairs and maintenance service for residents, including managing the repairs service desk and oversight of contractors. They are also responsible for ensuring our homes are compliant with regulatory requirements and standards, including gas safety, electrical safety and water safety.
The Major Works team is responsible for the Housing Major Works Programme which covers proactive maintenance, refurbishment, and improvement of our homes. This includes works like window repairs and replacements, heating replacements and upgrades, fire safety, and energy efficiency improvements.

The Special Projects and New Developments team is responsible for managing the development of new homes across our estates. This includes the new developments at Isleden House, York Way Estate and Sydenham Hill Estate. The team is also responsible for special projects which include sprinkler retrofit and comprehensive fire safety improvements.

The Housing Management team is responsible for day-to-day management of our homes and tenancies across London. This includes our allocations, tenancy management and sustainment, rental income, home ownership, resident involvement and consultation and estate management teams.

The Operations team is responsible for managing our operational services across our estates. This includes contract and supplier management such as electrical testing and stock condition surveys. You can contact the Operations team by emailing the Property Services team.
The Health and Fire Safety is responsible for oversight in auditing management of health, risk management and reporting, fire safety, asbestos, water hygiene and control of substances hazardous to health across both Housing and DCCS.
