The purpose of the Functional Skills Mathematics Level one qualification is to demonstrate both mathematical skills at the appropriate level and the ability to apply mathematical thinking effectively to solve problems successfully in the workplace and in other real-life situations.

This course is for confident learners aiming to achieve a nationally recognised Level 2 English qualification. It develops reading, writing, speaking and listening skills for work, study, and life. Entry is subject to initial assessment.

Progression route: GCSE English or further study/employment.

This course helps learners develop maths confidence in practical topics such as time, money, measurements and basic number operations. You will be assessed and placed at Entry Level 1, 2 or 3. Suitable for adults returning to learning or preparing for Functional Skills Maths Level 1.

Progression route: Functional Skills Level 1 or Multiply programmes.

This Functional Skills Maths course develops advanced numeracy and problem-solving skills used in work, study and everyday life. Suitable for those who already have Level 1 Maths. Assessment required prior to enrolment.

Progression route: GCSE Maths or vocational qualifications.

The Maths GCSE course is a comprehensive and dynamic program designed to equip students with essential mathematical skills, knowledge, and problem-solving abilities necessary for success in the General Certificate of Secondary Education (GCSE) examinations. Through engaging lessons, interactive activities, and real-world applications, this course aims to build students’ confidence and proficiency in mathematics, developing a deep understanding of mathematical concepts and their practical applications.

This course supports learners preparing for the IELTS General Training exam, ideal for immigration or employment. It develops skills in listening, reading, writing and speaking in everyday contexts. Recommended for learners with CEFR B1+ or ESOL Level 1+.

Progression route: IELTS Academic, Access to HE, or work-related qualifications.

This course prepares learners for the Life in the UK test by covering British history, values, traditions, laws, and the government system. Ideal for learners with Entry Level 3 English or above. The course supports understanding of official test materials and practice questions.

Progression route: Further ESOL, Functional Skills English or full citizenship test preparation.

To be eligible for funding on our free courses you should be a UK national or an EEA national with pre-settled or settled status under the EU Settlement Scheme and have been resident in the UK/EEA for the past three years. Proof may be required, more information about this is on the enrolment form.
