I thee wed
Join library assistant Nadine Licence in Shoe Lane Library or online, as she takes a look at how marriage has been regulated and recorded over the years in England, from Thomas Cromwell’s reforms in the 1530s, through centuries of church record keeping and to Civil Registration. She will also be showing some of the interesting things you can find in the documents, where a simple marriage record can tell a story far bigger than just two names and a date.
This talk will take place in person at Shoe Lane Library and online via Zoom. For more information and to book tickets, please click Book Tickets.
