Horace Walpole, the 4th Earl of Orford was an 18th century politician, English writer, art historian and for building Strawberry Hill House, a neo-Gothic revival house in Twickenham. He founded Gothic fiction in writing The Castle of Otranto and known as ‘The man of the letters.’
